چکیده

We consider the superfluid density s T in a two-band superconductor with sign-changing extended s-wave symmetry s+ in the presence of nonmagnetic impurities and apply the results to Fe-pnictides. We show that the behavior of the superfluid density is essentially the same as in an ordinary s-wave superconductor with magnetic impurities. We show that, for moderate to strong interband impurity scattering, s T behaves as a power law Tn with n 1.6÷2 over a wide range of T. We argue that the power-law behavior is consistent with recent experiments on the penetration depth T in doped BaFe2As2 but disagrees quantitatively with the data on LaFePO.

Field Dependent Superfluid Density in the Optimally Doped SmFeAsO1−xFy Superconductor

The magnetic-field dependence of the in-plane magnetic penetration depth ab for optimally doped SmFeAsO1−xFy was investigated by combining torque magnetometry, SQUID magnetometry, and muon-spin rotation. The results obtained from these techniques show all a pronounced decrease of the superfluid density sab− 2 as the field is increased to 1.4 T. This behaviour of s is analysed within a two-...

Microwave surface-impedance measurements of the magnetic penetration depth in single crystal Ba1-xKxFe2As2 superconductors: evidence for a disorder-dependent superfluid density.

We report high-sensitivity microwave measurements of the in-plane penetration depth lambda_{ab} and quasiparticle scattering rate 1/tau in several single crystals of the hole-doped Fe-based superconductor Ba(1-x)K(x)Fe(2)As(2) (x approximately 0.55). While a power-law temperature dependence of lambda_{ab} with a power approximately 2 is found in crystals with large 1/tau, we observe an exponent...

Direct evidence for a pressure-induced nodal superconducting gap in the Ba0.65Rb0.35Fe2As2 superconductor.

The superconducting gap structure in iron-based high-temperature superconductors (Fe-HTSs) is non-universal. In contrast to other unconventional superconductors, in the Fe-HTSs both d-wave and extended s-wave pairing symmetries are close in energy. Probing the proximity between these very different superconducting states and identifying experimental parameters that can tune them is of central i...

Competition/Coexisitence of Magnetism and Superconductivity in Iron Pnictides Probed by Muon Spin Rotation

The presence of macroscopic phase separation into superconducting and magnetic phases in LaFeAsO1−xFx and CaFe1−xCoxAsF is demonstrated by muon spin rotation (μSR) measurement across their phase boundaries (x = 0.06 for LaFeAsO1−xFx and x = 0.075–0.15 for CaFe1−xCoxAsF). In LaFeAsO0.94F0.06, both magnetism and superconductivity develop simultaneously below a common critical temperature, Tm ≃ Tc...

Effect of Activated Flux on Properties of SS 304 Using TIG Welding

In this experimental work, Manganese oxide (MnO2), Zinc oxide (ZnO), Iron oxide (Fe2O3) and Magnesium chloride (MgCl2) were used as activating flux to investigate the effects for SS 304 in tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. Ultimate tensile strength, percentage elongation, Penetration depth and width were studied of material SS 304. The experimental results indicated that the MnO2 and Fe2O3 flux...
